What we measure at a paint shop
We typically measure TOC as an indicator of organic substances (VOC) in the stack and, depending on the permit or technology, specific organic substances or particulates from overspray.

What we measure at a paint shop
We typically measure TOC as an indicator of organic substances (VOC) in the stack and, depending on the permit or technology, specific organic substances or particulates from overspray. We add the exhaust air flow and the operating parameters of the line so that the result can be evaluated correctly.
If the paint shop discharges air through several stacks (booth, drying, curing), the pollution level is generally determined at each of them unless the operating permit says otherwise. We therefore compare the stack scheme with the permit before the measurement is ordered.
How the measurement works
From the permit, the operating rules and the technical data sheets of the coatings we verify the source, the stacks and the measured substances. We measure during normal operation, that is, with the usual coating application and the filtration in its standard state; measurement at minimal production may not be usable.
One-off emission measurements are carried out by an authorised person. The operator announces the date in ISPOP at least 5 working days before the measurement, and the protocol data are reported through ISPOP within 60 days.

What we measure within our accreditation
Within our accreditation we measure solid particulate matter (TZL) isokinetically, NOx, CO, SO₂ and O₂ with analysers, TOC and VOC, HCl and inorganic chlorine compounds, heavy metals (As, Be, Cd, Cr, Co, Cu, Mn, Ni, Pb, Sb, Se, Sn, Te, Tl, V, Zn, Al, Fe, Si, Hg) and gas moisture, velocity and volume flow. The specific scope is determined by the permit for your operation.

Date and report
We agree the measurement date according to your operation and the authority's requirement. The delivery date of the report will be stated in the quote.
What determines the scope
The scope and frequency of measurement are not set by us, but by the operating permit, the authority's decision or a request from the hygiene station (KHS) or the Czech Environmental Inspectorate (ČIŽP). Send them to us and we will verify exactly what is required of you.

What is measured when measuring emissions from a paint shop?

Must all stacks of a paint shop be measured?
If a source has several stacks, the pollution level is generally determined at each of them unless the operating permit says otherwise. We therefore compare the list of stacks with the permit before the measurement is ordered.
How should the paint shop operate during the measurement?
The measurement should take place in a normal, representative regime: with the usual coating application and the filtration in its standard operating state. Measurement at minimal production or in an exceptional regime may not be usable.
Are particulates also measured at a powder coating shop?
The valid operating permit decides: it shows whether particulates are measured, at which stack, with what limit and at what interval. Decree No. 415/2012 Coll. sets a specific limit only for TOC for powder coating (from a design consumption of 10 t/year); for particulates a general limit may apply, or the regional authority may set a limit in the permit.
How much does emission measurement cost?
The price depends on the number of sources and substances measured, the measuring points and the distance. After receiving your documents we will prepare a non-binding quote.
How soon will I receive the report?
The delivery date of the report will be stated in the quote according to the scope of measurement. Data from the report are notified to ISPOP within 60 days using form F_OVZ_JME.
Do you measure throughout the Czech Republic?
Yes. We carry out on-site measurement of emissions, the working environment, noise and other quantities throughout the Czech Republic. We have offices in České Budějovice, Prague 5 and Havlíčkův Brod.
